A True Crime Evening: The Trial and Executions of Florence Lassandro and Emilio Picariello

It’s been 100 years since the notorious pair, Florence Lassandro and
Emilio Picariello, were hanged at Fort Saskatchewan’s Provincial Jail (1915-
1988). Tried and convicted for the 1922 death of A.P.P Constable Lawson, their
lives leading up to the crime and their last days are a story filled with community
presence, rum-running, and a blame game. Join us for an evening of food, drink,
and live music of the era and learn all about the rum-running history of the
Crowsnest Pass, the lives of Emilio Picariello and Florence Lassandro, and how
their case became one of the most famous in Alberta.
