Get your blood pumping with this thrilling summer bucket list.

With beautiful weather and seemingly limitless locales to explore, summer is ripe for adventure. Whether that means testing your bravery on a ropes course 50 feet in the air, or opening your palette to new cuisines, the city has an exciting summer activity for you.

  1. Canoe down the North Saskatchewan

  1. Check out Snow Valley Aerial Park      119 Whitemud Dr NW

What do you get when you take a dynamic ropes course and raise it 50 feet off the ground? A really fun afternoon at Snow Valley Aerial Park. With 4 platform levels complete with obstacles like scaling a net wall and “snowboarding” across a tight rope, this aerial park is a thrilling experience for anyone looking for a little summer adventure.

  1. Go on a Foodie Bike Tour

Go on a culinary adventure without the calorie-guilt. With Food Bike Tours, you’ll roll around the Capital City, sampling some of the finest local cuisine and beverages—and work up an appetite between stops! These nearly full-day events are an exciting way to see the city and meet new people.

  1. Run or walk in the Edmonton Marathon        2022 Dates TBD

Lace up your running shoes and join over 4,500 participants in the Edmonton Marathon. If 42.2 km is a bit out of reach, considering signing up for one of the other race-day events, like the 21.1 km half-marathon, 10 km run/walk, or 5 km run/walk.

  1. Visit K-Days       2022 Dates TBD

Edmonton’s exhibition features some of the best—and most thrilling—midway rides around. If the Fire Ball and Mega Drop are too tame for you, you can always test your bravery on the giant Slingshot.

  1. Try stand-up Paddleboarding      9735 Grierson Hill NW

River Valley Adventure Co. offers stand up paddleboard rentals for adventurers ready to put their paddle skills—and balance—to the test. Book the beginner stand-up paddle adventure for a board rental and scenic tour of the river led by one of the company’s adventure guides.

 –

  1. Get Scuba Certified with Northwest Scuba       6815 104 St

Edmonton may not be the premier scuba diving destination, but taking a course in the city means you can be certified and ready to go for your next diving vacation. Northwest Scuba even offers introductory courses for kids, as well as a series of advanced courses for those looking to take their training beyond basics.

  1. Take a Helicopter Tour      Edmonton International Airport

Edmonton Regional Helicopters offers private helicopter tours that range from city and river valley tours to private picnics on a river island. You’ve never seen the city quite like this.

  1. Ride the Mindbender       West Edmonton Mall

Unlike K-Days, the rides at Galaxy Land are open year-round. The amusement park’s claim to fame is the Mindbender rollercoaster—the world’s largest indoor coaster with three loops. If you’re feeling particularly lion-hearted, sit in the last car; it faces backwards so riders can’t see what’s coming.
