DESCRIPTION:3 Days\, Hundreds of Artists\n  \nImagine a 4 km walk through the hearts and minds of artists. Cultural explorers are invited to see art making in action on the streets of Old Strathcona\, a vibrant art district in the historic centre of Edmonton\, Alberta. Over 450 visual artists bring their art supplies and artworks out into the streets. Together they create an outdoor studio and gallery spanning several blocks. The Whyte Avenue Art Walk reveals Alberta’s hidden talent and provides an opportunity for patrons to curate their own art collection from many undiscovered masters. \n\nTime: 10 am – 5 pm daily \nWhere: The event is a grand promenade along Whyte Avenue (82 Avenue) from 101 Street to 108 Street. Artists will fill all the green spaces and several street closures\, too. It’s a long tour\, so bring your walking shoes!

SUMMARY:Thousand Faces Festival
DESCRIPTION:Aesthetically and culturally diverse\, the Thousand Faces Festival has given Dancers\, Musicians\, Poets\,  Painters\, Playwrights and Players space to tell stories from two- minute poems to feature-length multi-disciplinary epics. \nMany artists\, such as Malavika Venkatsubbaiah\, Tololwa Mollel\, Usha Gupta\, and Sebastian Barrera come back most years. At times these join in collaborations that grow\, like Tololwa’s Zulu Epic Trilogy Anthem of Life\, which Theatre Prospero is now producing in 2024.

SUMMARY:Derrick Stroup - Comedy
DESCRIPTION:Alabama native and stand-up comedian Derrick Stroup is not your average slow talking Southerner. With the cadence of an angry auctioneer\, he locks people in with his detailed stories and over the top energy. Like chasing his dreams of stand-up comedy\, Derrick moved to Denver\, Colorado in 2015 and has never looked back. Since then he has become a regular at several clubs in the state and the country. \nDerrick regularly goes on the road with John Crist and Josh Blue and he even won one of the biggest Comedy Contest in the Country in 2019 at the World Famous Comedy Works in Denver. The well respected competition has over 250 entries each year. Derrick also recently shot his Dry Bar Comedy Stand Up special which will be released in 2022. \n \n

SUMMARY:Muttstock
DESCRIPTION:Muttstock is an annual festival that brings together the dog loving community of Edmonton. Founded after the disband of Avenue Goes To the Dogs\, Muttstock was founded in 2015. Muttstock is a non profit group that raises money for the Rescues and Non Profits that become part of the Organizing Committee. Muttstock was held at Eastwood Community League for 5 years and have since moved to Elmwood Park Community League. Both spaces offer large green field\, a children’s park\, a water park\, and a hall. In past years\, Muttstock has included various activities. We have had face painters\, balloon artists\, caricature artists\, photographers\, entertainment\, and a doggy waterpark. Most activities are free or very low cost. Muttstock makes most of its money from the community BBQ we run every year. We have also raised money through raffles and vendors who participate in our events. We also raise money through nail trims by donation.
