SUMMARY:Shaun Majumder - Comedy
DESCRIPTION:The Grindstone Comedy Fest presents a one hour performance of Stand Up comedy featuring headliner Shaun Majumder\nRaised in rural Newfoundland Canada\, Shaun Majumder has been a performer his entire life. After leaving his hometown of Burlington (Population: 350) and moving to Mississauga\, Ontario at the age of thirteen\, Shaun acted in his first stage play in the 8th Grade (Grade 8 in Canada). Immediately he was hooked. He continued theatre throughout high school\, winning several awards at festivals for his many performances. But according to the adults around him\, there was no future in this acting thing. So\, Shaun followed the guidance of his teachers and did what most did; went to university with the hopes of a career finding him. \nAfter one year of partying and taking general arts classes\, Shaun quickly realized his true passion was acting\, so he abandoned his safety net and went for it. \nHe found early success as a Standup Comedian and host\, landing his first gigs with YTV (Canada’s Nickelodeon) as a host/PJ for five years\, along with CBC’s Just For Laughs comedy series. He continued to book small roles in Film and TV and in 2003 he joined the cast of CBC’s This Hour Has 22 minutes where he spent seventeen seasons. \nFor the past twenty-plus years\, Shaun has found success on both sides of the border. A few noteworthy performances include his work as Detective Vik Mahajan in the ABC’s critically acclaimed crime drama\, Detroit 1-8-7. His role as Andrew Palmer on NBC’s The Firm starring alongside Josh Lucas and Juliette Lewis. As Hassan Numair on FOX’s 24. His comedy roles include starring in the Sketch Comedy Series Cedric The Entertainer Presents\, The Farrelly Brother’s Unhitched\, ABC’s Married Not Dead\, NBC’s Nevermind Nirvana\, and CBC’s Hatching Matching and Dispatching.

DESCRIPTION:With Pure Heaven\, Creeping Chill\, Glock & Goober \nPunk hardcore band from Denver\, Colorado.\nDestiny Bond formed in Denver\, CO in summer 2021 as the reformation of a band Adam (drums)\, Amos (guitar)\, and Rio (bass) started a few years prior. Cloe joined on vocals and they played their first show that fall. Destiny Bond recorded the 6-song 2021 Demo on Convulse Records (GEL\, MSPAINT\, Militarie Gun\, Dazy) in October ‘21 in Denver\, and Emily joined the band on second guitar shortly after. The band continued to play in Colorado\, before hitting some weekend tours in mid-2022 with dates featuring Twin Tombs\, Candy Apple\, and Spy.

SUMMARY:SexBomb Girls
DESCRIPTION:The Sexbomb Girls (or also known as SexBomb Dancers) are an all-female singing and dancing group from the Philippines. \nThe Sexbomb Dancers were originally composed of four members upon their formation in 1999. They were background dancers for Eat Bulaga\, the Philippines’ longest running noontime variety show. Of the four original members\, only Rochelle Pangilinan remains part of the Sexbomb Girls\, and is regarded as the leader because of her seniority. \nThe group began in November 1999 as the ‘Chicken Sandwich Dancers’ which was an offshoot of the Danz Focus (house dancers of Eat Bulaga). At first there were 4 (Cheryl\, Debbie\, Janice and Rochelle). The group expanded to 6 with the addition of Jopay and Aira. The group expanded to 8\, 12 and 13 (during their first FHM appearance) to an all time high of 22. \nThe Sex Bomb 2002. The Sexbomb Singers were formed that same year\, and are billed as Sexbomb Girls in their shows and promotional materials. The dancers did shows under the dance albums\, Sexiest Hits Series and “I Like.” The Sexbomb Singers and Dancers are commonly still referred to as the Sexbomb Girls.

DESCRIPTION:John Saviours Udomboso\, globally known as Young Jonn\, also called The HITmaker\, is a defining force in Afropop and Afrobeats. Born on February 16\, 1995\, in Ibadan\, Nigeria\, his musical journey began in 2009 before a pivotal move to Lagos in 2012. There\, under the tutelage of Hit Factory Studios\, he refined his production craft\, going on to help shape the sound of a generation of Nigerian pop music. \nBeyond the console\, Young Jonn has steadily evolved into a fully formed recording artist. In 2021\, he signed with Chocolate City Music\, a strategic move that accelerated his rise as a singer and songwriter. His debut project\, Love Is Not Enough\, released in April 2022\, marked a major turning point and produced a remix of breakout single “Dada” featuring Davido. This momentum continued with Love Is Not Enough Vol. 2. In 2024\, he released his long-awaited debut album\, Jiggy Forever\, widely regarded as his most complete body of work to date. His short film that he wrote\, produced\, and starred in\, 5TH OF JULY\, was an official selection at the New York Latino Film Festival and the LA Independent Filmmakers Showcase Film Festival last year.

Cultural explorers are invited to see art making in action on the streets of Old Strathcona\, a vibrant art district in the historic centre of Edmonton\, Alberta. Over 450 visual artists bring their art supplies and artworks out into the streets. Together they create an outdoor studio and gallery spanning several blocks. The Whyte Avenue Art Walk reveals Alberta’s hidden talent and provides an opportunity for patrons to curate their own art collection from many undiscovered masters. \n\nTime: 10 am – 5 pm daily \nWhere: The event is a grand promenade along Whyte Avenue (82 Avenue) from 101 Street to 108 Street. Artists will fill all the green spaces and several street closures\, too. It’s a long tour\, so bring your walking shoes!
